   1. Introduction of the park
Reshuitang Hot Spring Park locates at 30km north to Jingpeng Town of Hexigten Banner and is at the junction of east border of Inner Mongolia Plateau, Great Xing’an Mountains Mountains, and mountain area of north of China. It is honored "Sacred Water” and “Magic Spring”. It has an area of about 0.3km2.

  2. Cause of formation
Hot spring is formed due to uplifting of Inner Mongolia Plateau and eruption of Great Xing’an Mountains volcanoes, which causes granite fracture zone along which atmospheric condensation, pore water, and fissure water penetrate and circulate, and they gather in the water-conducting granite fracture zone after being heated in deep crust and rise and surge out of the ground along the fissures to become hot spring. Geothermal water is stored in the structural fissure of granite and temperature of the water can be up to 87℃.

Development and utilization of hot spring has been more than one thousand years. Hot water is mainly distributed at the proluvial fan group in front of the mountain on north bank of Galadasitai River in an area of 1 square miles. Its dynamic reserves is 3017 tons/day, stable discharge rate of hot water is 2592 tons/day, with the temperature of about 83℃, yield and bearing of hot water s great, and supply sources are sufficient. The hot spring contains 47 microelements, such as chemical elements--fluorine and radium, special gases--radon and hydrogen sulfide, and rare elements--gallium, molybdenum, tungsten, lithium, and strontium. It spring look clear, taste flavorless, and smells with special flavor of sulphur. After bathing, the skin touches smooth, and it is an unique medical radon spring. It ranks on the second among the 11 A class hot springs all over the country.

  3. Major scenes—Kangxi's Bath Well
It locates at Reshui Town. There are wells, one of which is hot spring and the other is cold spring. The two wells are away from each other by 6m. It is said that Emperor Kangxi of Qing dynasty came here from bathing, and therefore, the well is called “Kangxi's Bath Well”.

It is said that, more than one thousand years ago, a monk named Gaerdenglaxi went a long way for choosing a location for building temple. His horse got sick and he was also exhausted. When they were passing a stream, both the monk and his horse were entrapped into the mud. He saw the horse keep drinking the water, and he also tried to drink with his hands. He found that the water was hot. After drinking the water, he felt good and refresh and all his weariness had gone. His horse also recovered and was as strong as before. Therefore, Daerdenglaxi Lama built Aershan Temple (which can be translated as Hot Spring Temple or Amrita Temple) by the mountain and spring. He dug the well into a pool and built it into a bath. Herdsmen from all directions came here for treatment with bath. Therefore, the spring was considered as “magic water”, “sacred water”, and was named as “Galadasitai” (which means “hot spring” or “fire spring”). Later on, the tample was renamed as “Huixiang Temple”.

In the third year of Tianzan’s reign (924), Yelu Abaojai, Taizu of Liao dynasty, came to Saihan Dam (which was called Songmo in Tang dynasty, Xing’an Daling and Dailin in Qing dynasty) to worship the sun. He stayed for bath when passed by. In the 12th year of Tian’xian’s reign (937), Yelu Deguang, taizong of Liao dynasty came here for hot spring bath specially. King of Lu who resided in Yingchang in Yuan dynasty honored this spring as “magic spring” and “sacred water”. In the 29th year of Kangxi (1690), Emperor Kangxi led the expedition personally to Gaerdan. After won the battle of Wulanbutong, he came to the hot spring for bath and wrote a stele for Huixiang Temple. By now, the site of “Kangxi’s Bath Well” is remained. In 1930, the 9th living budda, Banchan Qujinima bathed in the hot spring when he came to Qingning Temple of Jingpeng Town for sermoning. Bu He, the vice chairman once wrote a poem for praise, “Hexigten Banner has beautiful scenes, and my will of touring come......I prefer the work of nature, for the hot spring of all over the year”.

At present, there have been 10 hot spring sanatoriums. This hot spring town which is beside the mountain and water has beautiful scenes. It is the only steppe holiday village with full functions and integrated with medical treatment, tourism, holiday, and entertainment in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
